Grading policy

  Grading Policy:  Grade 7 French

Your grade is made up of three discrete parts.  The first is your homework; the second is your average on quizzes and other daily work in class; and the third is your average on tests and projects.  Any quiz, test, or homework assignment could include any topic covered in class this school year or previously -- all our work is cumulative, because learning a language is cumulative.

Grading Criteria

Tests & Projects                     35%

Homework                              25%

Quizzes/In-class work              40%

All homework assignments, unless otherwise noted, are due the next class day.  Notes from classes missed for any reason are the responsibility of the student.  Material covered on days missed is the responsibility of the student.  This is why each student has contact information for two classmates and the teacher.

It is the responsibility of the student to complete make-up work promptly, usually within two class days of return to school.  If an absence is not excused, the student will receive an F for any quiz, test, or other class activity that day.  It is important to make up missed work, to maintain continuity of learning.  Failure to make up the work will reduce the grade to zero.

Any plagiarism or other cheating will result in a grade of zero for that activity.
