Wow, life just keeps getting better for me the older I get!  Landing a job at Woods Charter School is a perfect example of that.  I enjoy life and teaching immensely.  I am a lifelong learner of all things.  I will never know everything and that thought excites me and humbles me at the same time.

Choosing a career in education was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.  I earned a degree in Social Science Education from Elon University and have had the honor of being a teacher for eight wonderful years.  My journey into teaching began as a history teacher at Western Alamance High School.  The path twisted a bit when I made the decision to temporarily exit the classroom and get involved with education through the lives of my children as a PTA volunteer and reading tutor.  I began to miss the classroom more and more as my children got older.  In 2013, I accepted a job teaching middle school at Horton Middle in Pittsboro, NC.  It was then that I decided I didn't want to go back to high school because I felt more at home in the middle school classroom.

The path to Woods came to me in a very different way, through my own kids who were here first.  I have witnessed first-hand the rich education that they have received at Woods and wanted to be a part of that.  I look forward to be included in a community that values creativity and individuality.  Woods is a safe place to learn and take risks and I look forward to good things to come.
